More Things for Which I am Thankful . . .

This has been a truly busy week, full of ups and downs, uncertainties and promises fulfilled.  My heart is full.  My mind is overwhelmed.  My soul is resting in the Lord.  So, I thought I'd share with you some of the happenings in the last week for which I give the Lord the thanks and praise due Him.

  • Danny's successful trip to St. Paul and safe return.
  • Being able to take my mother-in-law to the doctor's, to lunch, and bring her some frozen meal-on-wheels from Danny's kitchen.
  • My MIL - she is such a joy!
  • My Mom - for being so strong in the face of my Dad's Alzheimer's.  She knows my brother and I are here for the both of them.
  • My Mom, for letting me see first hand what courage and faith are all about.
  • My publisher for liking my head shot (above) for the book.
  • Making stepson, Giovanni, happy with breakfast meals for dinner.
  • Seeing my daughter, son-in-law, and grand-girl and loving every moment of the visit.
  • Having the first dry spell in writing answered by an absolute gush of productivity and satisfaction.
  • Praising the Lord in worship.
  • Pastor Wallace giving me more inspirational stories for my blog in one Sunday than he has in the past six months.
  • Deciding upon the cover photo for my novel.  Wow!  Big decision!
  • Not getting vertigo on the road.  Milestone!
  • The birds at the feeder, the squirrels scurrying in the trees, the chipmunks scampering through the leaves, the deer strolling through our yard.
  • The cool temperatures and the brisk wind.
  • Having the "daring-do" to write spontaneously upon the blog page.
  • Every one of my friends who have been so supportive.  Much love to you!
What are you thankful for today?  Would love you to share your most recent thankful experiences in the comment section below.

In the meantime, may God bless you and keep you in His warm and loving embrace!

  2. Thank you so much, Linda!
It is in the letting go that we truly get going, is it not? Getting out of my comfort zone is so freeing.
    And, I will tell my story . . . :)
Love and blessings, my friend, and thanks again for meeting up with Danny in St. Paul. It means so much that you would take time out of your busy day to do this and to make him feel welcome.

  3. My darling you are absolutely gushing with gratitude! I love it! We all have so much to be grateful for. I'm thankful for my daughter's safe trip to the UK. My team winning (lame, but God understands) My health and life. My talents being used to spread God's love and light. Gosh...I'm grateful for all things great and small. See what you started!

    1. And, I'm so glad I started it, Leah, especially with a friend like you! Sometimes, thankfulness simply cannot be contained and just has to flow monumentally to change the comfortable curvatures of a river's flow for always and forever. You have made me recall the epic flood we had here several years ago that changed the river courses so incredibly that it will take a Noah's Ark episode to have them rise above once again.
Glad to know for what you are thankful, dear friend! Oh, and nothing wrong with having your team win! We celebrated here in Georgia big time! :)
      Blessings and love!

  4. Martha,
Just today I remembered that I tweeted something I was grateful for each day in 2011. Your post made me remember how easily we take things for granted. I am so grateful to have discovered so many delightful interesting bloggers and so grateful we still have the freedom of speech to say and write what we want. Enjoy your thoughts always. Such a great reminder any day.

  5. Martha,
I am sooo thankful this year! One year ago I was at Piedmont Hospital with viral meningitis and encephelitis. I knew very little 365 days ago. Today I am able to walk (with a cane), speak normally, and have gotten most of my memory back. I still have a few issues but I am so thankful to the hundreds of people that have prayed for me and worked with me over the last year! Our God is an awesome God to allow me to "come back". Thank you for allowing me to post this!

    2. Thank you, Martha! It is so wonderful to see the amazing things that have happened around me. Tuesday night I get to go back to Shepherd Center and share some of the great things that happened while I was there to a group that donates a lot of time. It is indeed an honor for me to go back and share the Holy Spirit with them :) as we know He is there!

  12. fabulous picture! And, again... congratulations on the book! Gratitude 'list' is a part of my daily keep me centered and placed in reality regimen. I started a night-time I am grateful routine with my kids; just yesterday my daughter, 8 was very upset over one of those toys from a toy vending machine, she finally realized that her behavior was inappropriate, and she says, "Mom, I'm grateful that you got me something. Thank you" <--- I'm grateful!
