Trains

The train calls me forward;
Tells me, "Don't look back!
Trust in the journey
Forward!"  Room for slack?
Not on this watch
Where perils deftly lie,
And, lay in wait for those
Who question and defy.
Convenient answers strewn
Like wedding petals tossed
Fecklessly, carelessly scattered,
At feet of bride, then lost.
My journey, like no other.
Resounding trains, still calling,
Heart quickens to the sound;
Soul knows:  I'm not failing.
I'm redeemed.  I am found.

  1. Journeys are about moving forward, even if you visit your past, it has to be to make peace with it. And it is always nice to embark on a journey whether literally or inward, with self.

    1. Yes, indeed, we do have to make peace with our past, and keep on going forward into life's new adventures.

    1. Thanks so much for your kind words, Joyce. Don't sell yourself short on the poetry. Maybe, if you want to try your hand at it, start with haikus - short, simple, and sweet.
      Love and blessings!
