A teardrop of wax

Of flame, aglow

For answered prayer

The leaves fall

Tumbling down

Dancing on wind

Pitter-patter

Like raindrops

Scatter glory

Twist and twirl

Descend with grace

Draw attention

Make their mark

Though now faded

Remembered well

The vibrant green

Once spring's face

Recalled, renewed,

Will come again

In hope, they will

Come again

Love's Fire

The tender part

The heart that cares

The love that flows

And freely shares;

That is my desire.

The tinder part

Think less of you

Leaf Falls

Leaf out of season

Unduly rendered past prime

Falls to ground.  Reminds.

Lies!

Lies in my holy name

As if I give permission

For divination blatant

Idolatry reminiscent

Of the first betrayal

When I looked, I searched

I sought the naked souls

Who, in their shame, ran

For cover before All-Knowing

Eyes and ears and mind and soul.

Only I Am makes them whole!
