Why Cry?

Why cry?  You should be laughing!
These tears are not your style.
Why mourn?  You should be singing!
You face adorned by smile.

Why cry?  My heart is heavy.
I'm far away from home.
My soul seeks quiet solace
And, I feel so all alone.

Why cry?  The sun is rising!
The darkness is no more.
A brand new day to promise
Something better than before!

Why cry?  My heart is aching.
Tears are all I know.
If there's a silver lining,
My clouds won't let it show.

Dry your eyes!  Tears kept!
Let it flow . . . Jesus wept.

  1. You've captured the mixed emotions so well, Martha. The sorrow and yet the voice of faith talking one through their pain. Thanks for joining in - loved your contribution!

    1. Thanks so much, Corinne! Glad I could join in; actually, the Spirit moved me to join in. :)
      Blessings and love!

  2. I agree with Corinne, tears are made up of so much more than sadness and salt.

    1. Thank you coming by, Cairn, and leaving your comment. Yes, tears mean many things, indeed, and can certainly be healing.
      Blessings to you!

  3. This is so beautiful Martha... it's almost like a song...I've shared the causes of my tears in Corinne's post. Your turn on this 'event' is it!

    1. Thanks so much for your kind words, Melissa! I'll have to check out your addition on Corinne's post.
      Love and blessings always!
